About Us

Rustic River Cabin Outfitters, formerly known as Brush with Nature Designs, was originated in 2001 by Diane Schalinske as a second love to running her store (at the time), Pastimes Gift Shop.  As the business grew, eventually it moved to a studio in Diane’s home, expanding again to a small retail location in St. Germain, and now nestles itself in it’s permanent location in the beautiful Northwoods of Sayner, Wisconsin.

In December of 2007 Scott (Diane’s husband) and Diane invited their son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Carrie Schalinske to join them in business.  After three years of grooming, Troy and Carrie bought Scott and Diane's half of the business and are now full owners and operators of Rustic River Cabin Outfitters.  You will now find Carrie either out in the field designing the interiors of her client’s home or in the sewing room creating magnificent window treatments.  Carrie also manages their 2,500 sq. ft. Home Décor & Gift Shop located at 3019 Main Street, Sayner, Wisconsin. 

Rustic River Cabin Outfitters is joined by a team of artists who are extraordinarily talented.  It is Rustic River's desire to make your home or business feel warm and inviting to all who enter.
